Odessa police arrested two men and are still searching for a third after a shooting Saturday afternoon on the west side of Odessa.

Joey Maldonado, 26, and Steve Douglas, 47, were arrested and charged with second-degree-felony aggravated assault with a deadly weapon. Police are still seeking Joseph Douglas.

Aldo Luna, 30, sustained non-life-threatening injuries when he was shot in the head during the incident, and was not taken to a hospital for treatment, an Odessa police news release stated.

The release stated officers responded to the area of 12th Street and Alleghaney Avenue on Saturday at about 12:30 p.m. and made contact with Luna, who said he had been involved in an incident with Steve Douglas, Joseph Douglas and Maldonado.

Investigation revealed that Steve Douglas and Joseph Douglas displayed firearms, and Steve Douglas told Maldonado to kill Luna, before Maldonado produced a firearm and began shooting at Luna, striking him once in the head, the release stated. Luna then fled the scene as Steve Douglas and Joseph Douglas chased after him, the release detailed.

Based on the investigation, Odessa police detectives obtained warrants for the three suspects and later arrested Maldonado and Steve Douglas.

Odessa police are still searching for Joseph Douglas. Anyone with information on his whereabouts is encouraged to contact the Odessa Police Department.
