Police are investigating a Snapchat post threatening to shoot up Permian High School.
A posting on the Ector County Independent School District Facebook page said it was a “very vague threat with no date or time given” — just a warning.
“As with a similar threat last month, we have our ECISD officers and the Odessa Police Department investigating this. We have additional officers on campus now and they will remain there,” the post said.
“Also as we did last month, we will continue with the school day. We believe strongly that if we dismiss school these types of threats will continue to come on a more frequent basis. We want parents and the community to know we treat these threats seriously, and will press criminal charges if we are able to determine who made the threat. The safety of our staff and students is our highest priority and we have increased security at the school,” the post said.
