OPD: Woman threatened to kill pregnant woman, child

Detectives charged a woman last week after she reportedly broke into a pregnant woman’s residence and threatened to kill her and her unborn child.

Officers were called about a disturbance on Jan. 25 in the 2500 block of Beechwood Street, an Odessa Police Department news release stated.

Upon arrival, police made contact with the 25-year-old victim, the release detailed.

The victim told police a person she knew, 29-year-old Morgan Orosco, had been banging on her front door, demanding she open it, while cursing at her, the release stated.

Orosco reportedly forced entry from the door in the garage after the complainant refused to open the front door, the release detailed. Orosco then threatened to kill the complainant along with the child she was pregnant with.

The release stated Orosco fled the scene before police arrived, but was later interviewed by detectives and admitted to making forced entry into the residence.

Police charged Orosco with burglary of a habitation, a second-degree felony.

Jail records show Orosco was taken to the Ector County Detention Center March 8 and was released the next day on a $25,000 bond.
