OPD: Man charged after selling drugs with minor

Police arrested a man after he reportedly sold cocaine and marijuana with a 14-year-old boy.

Officers were called about a man selling narcotics around 11:30 a.m. April 2 in the 2500 block of Andrews Highway, an Odessa Police Department news release stated.

Upon arrival, officers made contact with the man, 18-year-old Patrick Barnett, who was found in possession of two grams of cocaine and 8.8 grams of marijuana, the release detailed.

Barnett had reportedly been selling narcotics with a 14-year-old boy and made the narcotics accessible for the boy to distribute, the release stated.

OPD charged Barnett with manufacture or delivery of cocaine, a second-degree felony, endangering a child, a state jail felony, and possession of marijuana, a class B misdemeanor.

Jail records show Barnett was taken to the Ector County Detention Center Friday and has three bonds totaling $33,000.
