Odessa police are investigating two separate shootings that occurred Thursday and Friday.

Officers were called about a drive-by shooting at around 11:56 a.m. Friday in the 1300 block of Eidson Avenue, OPD Spokesman Steve LeSueur said, that left one victim with life-threatening injuries.

The release stated two victims were injured: 18-year-old Nathan Stephens was shot once in the abdomen and taken to Medical Center Hospital with serious bodily injury and 19-year-old Desmond Tuggle sustained a minor injury to his left hand from the incident. No other injuries were reported.

Both suspects fled the scene in vehicles described as being a black Chevrolet truck and a black Pontiac Sunfire, the release detailed.

Officers were also called about shots fired around 10:55 p.m. Thursday at Sherwood Park, 4520 N. Dixie Blvd., an OPD news release stated.

An 18-year-old man told police he had been shot at by unknown people, the release said.

The victim told officers he saw a white Monte Carlo with black stripes traveling east on 44th Street, the release detailed, which slowed down near his location and an unknown occupant began shooting at him.

A 19-year-old man was shot in the left leg during the shooting, the release said. He told officers the suspect’s vehicle was a 2000 model Altima or Firebird.

Several shell casings were found in the 1100 block of East 44th Street, the release stated. No other injuries were reported.

Police are still searching for the suspects and the investigations are ongoing. LeSueur said it is unknown whether the two shootings are related at this time.
