An Odessa police vehicle was involved in a crash during a response Friday evening, but no injuries were reported.

An Odessa police release states an OPD officer was responding to assist another officer around 8:30 p.m. Friday, traveling southbound on Grandview Avenue in a marked vehicle with the lights on and siren activated, when a black 2013 Chevrolet Tahoe traveling eastbound on 8th Street failed to yield the right of way to the OPD unit and collided with it at the intersection of 8th Street and Grandview Avenue.

The release identifies Stevi Ortiz, 22, as the driver of the Tahoe and states he was cited for fail to yield right of way to an emergency vehicle.

The release details that the officer was responding to assist another OPD officer who was in foot pursuit of a possible shooting suspect.
