Two off-duty police officers arrested four men early Friday morning who reportedly ambushed a woman in a bar parking lot and stole her purse.

An Odessa Police Department news release stated two OPD officers were working off-duty security at Half-Time Bar, 2120 Andrews Highway, when they heard yelling in the parking lot around 1:56 a.m. Friday.

After going outside to investigate, officers found a 32-year-old woman, who told them several men had jumped her and stolen her purse, the release stated, and pointed out two of the suspects, 28-year-old Timothy Ramos and 24-year-old Adela Ramos.

While Ramos initially resisted arrest, both suspects were placed into custody, the release detailed, and Timothy Ramos was found to have the complainant’s car key.

Two more suspects, 25-year-old Fabian Campuzano and 24-year-old Martin Zuniga, were found hiding behind a white Dodge pick-up, the release said. The complainant’s Louis Vuitton purse, containing around $800, was found in the bed of the pick-up.

While attempting to handcuff Campuzzano, the suspect evaded officers on foot, but was later caught in the west alley of the 1900 block of North Jackson Avenue, the release stated.

All four suspects were charged with robbery, a second-degree felony, and public intoxication, a class C misdemeanor. Campuzano and Ramos were additionally charged with evading arrest, a class A misdemeanor.
