Odessa police arrested and charged a man Saturday after he reportedly crashed into the gate at OPD’s shooting range in Odessa.
Nikki Aron Williams, 26, was arrested at about 9 p.m. Saturday and charged with misdemeanor resisting arrest and misdemeanor driving while intoxicated, according to an Odessa police release.
The release states Williams was driving a 2013 Kia Optima that crashed through the front gate at the range at 3000 South Dixie Boulevard, causing approximately $10,000 worth of damage.
Williams was found by officers to be intoxicated, the release states, and when officers attempted to place handcuffs on him, he resisted arrest and attempted to walk away. The release states that Williams continued to resist arrest, but with the assistance of paramedics, was eventually placed into custody and taken to the Ector County Law Enforcement Center.
Jail records indicate Williams was released Saturday on bonds posted totaling $2,000.
