Man reportedly assaulted ex-girlfriend’s friend three times

Police charged a man after he reportedly broke into his ex-girlfriend’s apartment and also assaulted her friend three times in one night.

Officers were called about an assault around 4:21 a.m. Sunday at Arbor Terrace Apartments, 1101 Fitch Ave., an Odessa Police Department news release stated.

Upon arrival, police interviewed the 22-year-old complainant and her ex-boyfriend, 42-year-old Carlos Stewart.

Police also made contact with the complainant’s friend, a 23-year-old woman. The ex-girlfriend told police Stewart forced his way into her apartment by kicking in the door before punching her friend in the face multiple times, the release detailed. Stewart had reportedly assaulted the 23-year-old earlier that night at a club and outside the complainant’s apartment as well.

Officers saw the door frame broken and the victim was taken to Medical Center Hospital to be treated for bodily injury to her face, the release stated.

Police charged Stewart with burglary of a habitation with intent to commit another felony, a first-degree felony.

Jail records show Stewart was taken to the Ector County Detention Center Sunday and has a $75,000 bond.
