Man charged with injuring disabled victim

A man has been arrested on charges related to the assault of a disabled person.

David Solis, 43, was arrested Tuesday and charged with state-jail-felony injury to a disabled person.

An Odessa police release states that on March 31, officers responded to the 1400 block of West 13th Street in reference to a reported assault, making contact with a 63-year-old woman, who said she had been assaulted by Solis.

The release states that investigation revealed that Solis attempted to sell hydrocodone to her, and when she refused, he became irate and pushed her down into a chair before striking her right arm, causing injury. The release states investigation revealed that the complainant was medically disabled.

Odessa police obtained a warrant for Solis and arrested him just before 4 p.m. Tuesday. Jail records indicate Solis was released Wednesday on a $7,500 bond.
