Man charged after girl, 11, discloses sexual assault to teacher

Police charged a man Thursday after he reportedly sexually assaulted a girl several times while she was in first through third grade.

The 11-year-old victim told her teacher Thursday she had been sexually assaulted by a man she knew, 30-year-old Jorge Luis Hernandez, according to an Odessa Police Department news release.

Hernandez had reportedly sexually assaulted the victim several times during the time she attended first through third grade, the release stated.

Police charged Hernandez with continuous sexual assault of a child, a first-degree felony.

Jail records show Hernandez was taken to the Ector County Detention Center Friday and released the same day on a $100,000 bond.
