Cases stemming from a police prostitution sting earlier this year are working their way through the Ector County court system. Records show a grand jury on June 19 indicted at least four men arrested in “Operation Gauntlet” on felony charges of soliciting prostitution of a child.

Those men were 43-year-old Eric Matthew Gesch, 27-year-old Alex Brito, 25-year-old Peyton Wayne Coffman and 28-year-old Lloyd Ashton David.

Records also showed Gesch, who also faced separate charges in previous cases of stalking and two counts of indecency with a child by sexual contact, pleaded guilty to all four charges a day after the indictments. He received 10 years probation and deferred adjudication.

Nearly a dozen agencies including the Odessa Police Department had participated in the 15-day sting, which netted the arrests of 62 people. The investigation relied heavily on the internet, with officers posing as prostitutes and johns.
