ECTOR COUNTY FELONY DISPOSITIONS: November 15, 2021

The following is a list of felony dispositions from the Ector County District Clerk’s Office. Listed attorneys do not necessarily represent who was involved when the case was disposed. The prosecuting attorney was not listed unless otherwise stated.

ABANDON ENDANGER

John L. Smith, 37, pleaded guilty Nov. 2 to three counts of abandon endanger child intentional/knowing/reckless/criminal negligence and was sentenced to 15 months in state jail. Judge James Rush approved the deal.

ACCIDENT INVOLVING INJURY

Mario Alberto Lara, 47, pleaded guilty Nov. 2 to accident involving injury and was sentenced to 365 days in county jail. Judge James Rush approved the deal.

ASSAULT

Barry Anthony Jones, 35, pleaded guilty Nov. 3 to aggravated assault with deadline weapon and was sentenced to two years in prison. Judge John Shrode approved the deal. Dennis Jones was the attorney.

Bryace Todd Jones, 34, pleaded guilty Nov. 3 to assault peace officer/judge and was sentenced to four years in prison. Judge Tryon D. Lewis approved the deal.

Jonathan Hernandez, 36, pleaded guilty Nov. 5 to assault family/house member impede breath/circulation and was sentenced to four years in prison. Judge Justin Low approved the deal. Michael Louis McLeaish was the attorney.

Nicolause Maldonado, 21, had an aggravated assault with deadly weapon charge dismissed Nov. 8. Judge John Shrode presided.

DEADLY CONDUCT

Raymond Phillip Moseley, 37, pleaded guilty Nov. 5 to deadly conduct – a lesser- included offense and was sentenced to 10 years probation and 10 years in prison (suspended). Judge James Rush approved the deal.

DWI

Benito V. Moreno, 34, had his probation revoked Oct. 22 on the charge of driving while intoxicated with child under 15 years of age (SJF) and was sentenced to 10 months in state jail. Judge John W. Smith approved the deal.

Casey Vaughn Dickman, 46, was granted community supervision discharge and dismissal Nov. 1 on the charge of driving while intoxicated third or more. Judge James Rush presided. Steve Brannan was the attorney.

Charles Ayoga Ogari, 68, pleaded guilty Nov. 3 to driving while intoxicated third or more and was sentenced to six years probation and six years in prison (suspended). Judge Denn Whalen approved the deal. Scott Layh was the attorney.

Daniel Vasquez, Jr., 39, had his probation revoked Oct. 28 on the charge of driving while intoxicated third Or More (F3) and was sentenced to two years in prison. Judge John W. Smith approved the deal.

ENGAGE IN ORGANIZED CRIMINAL ACTIVITY

Jesus Antonio Perez, 22, pleaded guilty Nov. 4 to two counts of engage in organized criminal activity (SJF) and was sentenced to 18 months in state jail in an order adjudicating guilt. Judge Denn Whalen approved the deal. Robert V. Garcia was the attorney.

EVADING ARREST

Christopher Lee Rubio, 50, had an evading arrest detain with vehicle charge dismissed Nov. 8. Judge John Shrode presided.

Christopher Mitchell Zapata, 24, pleaded guilty Nov. 3 to evading arrest detain with vehicle (F3) and was sentenced to two years probation and deferred adjudication. Judge Denn Whalen approved the deal. Audie M. Reese was the attorney.

FORGERY

Tylor Carrol Beck, 54, pleaded guilty Nov. 5 to forgery financial instrument and was sentenced to 347 days in prison. Judge Justin Low approved the deal.

William Matthew Martinez, 42, pleaded guilty Nov. 3 to three counts of forgery (SJF) and was sentenced to 20 months in state jail. Judge Denn Whalen approved the deal.

FRAUD

Francisco Antonio Venegas, 32, pleaded guilty Oct. 29 to injury child/elderly/disable with intentional body injury and was sentenced to three years in prison in an order adjudicating guilt. Judge James Rush approved the deal.

Isaac Sanchez Patino, 42, had an injury child/elderly/disable with intentional bodily injury charge dismissed Nov. 8. Judge John Shrode presided. Jason Schoel was the attorney.

AGGRAVATED KIDNAPPING TERRORIZE

Jonathan Hernandez, 36, had three counts of aggravated kidnapping terrorize charges dismissed Nov. 5. Judge Justin Low presided. Michael Louis McLeaish was the attorney.

POSSESSION OF A CONTROLLED SUBSTANCE

Ali Rene Olivas, 29, pleaded guilty Nov. 4 to possession of a controlled substance, more than one gram, but less than four grams, and was sentenced to two years in prison. Judge Denn Whalen approved the deal.

Allen Dean Buenger, 30, had a possession of a controlled substance charge, more than four grams, but less than 200 grams, dismissed Nov. 4. Judge Denn Whalen presided.

Arnulfo Hinojoza Melendez, 40, pleaded guilty Nov. 2 to possession of a controlled substance, more than one gram, but less than four grams, (F3) and was sentenced to five years probation and deferred adjudication. Judge John Shrode approved the deal. Luis A. Chavez was the attorney.

Arturo Arron Levario Zubia, 39, had a possession of a controlled substance charge, less than one gram, dismissed Nov. 1. Judge Justin Low presided. Phillip Wildman Jr. was the attorney.

SEXUAL ASSAULT

TAMPER/FABRICATE

Louis Ernest Alvarado, 48, was granted community supervision discharge and dismissal Nov. 3 on the charge of tamper/fabricate physical evidence with intent to impair. Judge James Rush presided. Tony Chavez was the attorney.

THEFT
