Suspect arrested after standoff

Odessa Police arrested a man in connection to a robbery and aggravated assault that happened Aug. 12 in southwest Odessa.

Jesus Antonio Perez, 22, was arrested for robbery, second-degree felony, aggravated assault with a deadly weapon (family violence) second-degree felony, and for three felony warrants, a news release said.

On Aug. 12 at around 6:30 pm, officers responded to the 1000 block of Dwayne Street. When officers arrived, they found a 15-year-old with multiple injuries to his face and arms. The investigation revealed that the teen victim had been robbed by Perez who fled the scene, the news release said.

Officers then learned that Perez had barricaded himself inside of a home in the 1000 block of Dwayne. After a brief standoff, Perez was arrested. The investigation revealed that Perez had three outstanding felony warrants and that Perez had also threatened to kill his 50-year-old mother with a knife.
