ECTOR COUNTY FELONY DISPOSITIONS November 26, 2018

The following is a list of felony dispositions from the Ector County District Clerk’s Office. Listed attorneys do not necessarily represent who was involved when the case was disposed. The prosecuting attorney was not listed unless otherwise stated.

ABANDONING/ENDANGERING CHILD

>> Bobbie Jo Knight, 50, pleaded guilty Nov. 14 to two counts of abandoning and endangering a child with criminal negligence and had her probation revoked. Knight was sentenced to 10 months in state jail. Judge Stacy Trotter approved the deal. Chris Fostel was the defense attorney.

>> Osmany Romero Peguero, 39, pleaded guilty Nov. 16 to abandoning or endangering a child and was sentenced to four years probation and deferred adjudication. Judge James Rush approved the deal. Laura Carpenter was the defense attorney.

ASSAULT

>> Tawni Marie Gutierrez, 24, was sentenced to four years in prison in an order adjudicating guilt Oct. 16 on a charge of aggravated assault of a family or household member with a deadly weapon. Judge John Smith approved the deal. Jason Leach was the defense attorney.

>> Oscar Munoz Alcantar, 32, had a charge of assault (family violence) dismissed Nov. 14 because he pleaded guilty to a lesser included offense in another case. Rush presided. Michael McLeaish was the defense attorney.

>> Jeremiah Marcus Carrasco, 29, was sentenced to five years in prison in an order adjudicating guilt Nov. 15 on a charge of aggravated assault with a deadly weapon (family violence). Trotter approved the deal. Leach was the defense attorney.

>> Brittany Hicks, 19, pleaded guilty Nov. 16 to aggravated assault with a deadly weapon and was sentenced to five years probation and deferred adjudication. Trotter approved the deal. Luis Chavez was the defense attorney.

BURGLARY

>> Julie Lynn Heidemann, 51, pleaded guilty Nov. 16 to burglary of a habitation and was sentenced to four years in prison. Rush approved the deal. Don Fletcher was the defense attorney.

>> Luis Manuel Mendoza Jr., 18, pleaded guilty Nov. 16 to burglary of a habitation and unauthorized use of a vehicle and was sentenced to seven years probation and deferred adjudication and three years probation and deferred adjudication, respectively, on those charges. Rush approved the deal. BJ Brown was the defense attorney.

>> Cruz Hervey Tarin, 31, pleaded guilty Nov. 16 to charges of burglary of a habitation, theft of a firearm, unlawful possession of a firearm by a felon and five counts of burglary of a building and was sentenced to seven years in prison and 20 months in state jail, respectively, on those charges. Rush approved the deal. McLeaish was the defense attorney.

CONTINUOUS VIOLENCE

>> Luis Angel Tabares, 27, pleaded guilty Nov. 16 to continuous violence against the family and was sentenced to five years probation and deferred adjudication. Rush approved the deal. Gary Garrison was the defense attorney.

DEBIT CARD ABUSE

>> David Jones, 44, pleaded guilty Oct. 26 to debit card abuse and had his probation revoked. Jones was sentenced to three years in prison. Smith approved the deal. Bret Mansur was the defense attorney.

DRIVING WHILE INTOXICATED

>> Gabriel Gonzales Lopez, 44, pleaded guilty Nov. 13 to driving while intoxicated, third or more, and was sentenced to six years probation. Rush approved the deal. Glen Halsell was the defense attorney.

EVADING ARREST

>> Carlos Reza Hinojos, 41, pleaded guilty Nov. 15 to evading arrest with a vehicle and was sentenced to five years probation and deferred adjudication. Trotter approved the deal. Robert Garcia was the defense attorney.

FORGERY

>> Skyler Don Conklin, 23, pleaded guilty Nov. 14 to forgery of a financial instrument and possession of a controlled substance, less than one gram, and was sentenced to four years probation. Trotter approved the deal. Marc Chastain was the defense attorney.

POSSESSION OF CONTROLLED SUBSTANCE

>> Eric Michael Minjarez, 43, was sentenced to 12 months in state jail in an order adjudicating guilt Oct. 25 on a charge of possession of a controlled substance, less than one gram. Smith approved the deal. Kevin Acker was the defense attorney.

>> Haidee Soto, 32, was sentenced to three years in prison and nine months in state jail, respectively, in orders adjudicating guilty Nov. 14 and Nov. 15 on charges of possession of a controlled substance, one gram or more but less than four grams; and possession of a controlled substance, less than one gram. Trotter approved the deal. Robert Hollmann was the defense attorney.

>> Alejandro Varela, 30, was sentenced to 12 months in state jail in an order adjudicating guilt Nov. 14 on a charge of possession of a controlled substance (cocaine), less than one gram. Trotter approved the deal. Hollmann was the defense attorney and Julie Prentiss was the prosecutor.

>> Ernest Allen Wheeler, 55, was sentenced to 12 months in state jail in an order adjudicating guilt Nov. 14 on a charge of possession of a controlled substance, less than one gram. Trotter approved the deal. Mansur was the defense attorney.

>> Zachary Thomas Woody, 33, pleaded guilty Nov. 15 to possession of a controlled substance, less than one gram, and was sentenced to two years probation and deferred adjudication. Trotter approved the deal. Hollmann was the defense attorney.

>> Edgar Belmontes, 26, pleaded guilty Nov. 15 to possession of a controlled substance, less than one gram, and was sentenced to five years probation and deferred adjudication. Trotter approved the deal. Garcia was the defense attorney.

THEFT

>> Heather Haskins, 25, pleaded guilty Nov. 2 to theft of property, $30,000 or more but less than $150,000, and had her probation revoked. Haskins was sentenced to two years in state jail. Smith approved the deal. Scott Layh was the defense attorney.

>> Jorge Daniel Reyes Ordonez, 19, had a charge of theft dismissed Nov. 14 in the interest of justice after he made full restitution to the victim. Smith presided. Garrison was the defense attorney.

>> Allie Marie Jaramillo, 44, had a charge of theft, less than $1,500, with two or more prior theft convictions dismissed Nov. 15 because she pleaded guilty to the charge in county court. Trotter presided. Daniel Sarabia Jr. was the defense attorney.

>> Gus Alejandro Casas, 40, pleaded guilty Nov. 16 to theft of property, less than $2,500, with two or more previous convictions and was sentenced to 13 months in state jail. Rush approved the deal. Adrian Chavez was the defense attorney.

>> Lawrence Gutierrez, 24, pleaded guilty Nov. 16 to theft and was sentenced to 12 months in state jail. Rush approved the deal. Hollmann was the defense attorney.

>> Belinda Diana Parum, 56, pleaded guilty Nov. 16 to two counts of theft of property, less than $2,500, with two or more previous convictions and was sentenced to 150 days in county jail. Rush approved the deal. Jerry Caddel was the defense attorney.

UNAUTHORIZED USE OF VEHICLE
