Disturbance leads to fugitive arrest

A fugitive wanted out of New Mexico for abuse of a child was arrested by Odessa police following a disturbance Wednesday.

Police were called about a disturbance involving several people in a white Chevrolet Tahoe around 10:37 a.m. near Schell Street and Sam Houston Avenue, an Odessa Police Department news release said.

Upon arrival, officers found the vehicle in the 300 block of Schell Street and made contact with 18-year-old Erin Villa, the release detailed, and discovered Villa had a felony probation warrant out of Eddy County, New Mexico for abuse of a child.

Villa was arrested and taken to the Ector County Detention Center Thursday, jail records show, and has no bond set.
