Police arrested a couple Saturday night after the husband had reportedly driven intoxicated while their three small children were in the back of their vehicle.

Officers were first called around 8:19 p.m. Saturday about a disturbance involving several people fighting in the 4900 block of McKnight Drive, according to an Odessa Police Department news release.

Upon arrival, officers pulled over a blue 1990 Chevrolet pick-up traveling south on McKnight Drive and made contact with the occupants, 45-year-old Troy Teague and 37-year-old Shannon Teague, the release stated. Also in the back of the vehicle were their children, a 3-year-old girl and two 2-year-old boys.

Shannon Teague told officers she had beaten up a woman who was no longer on scene, the release detailed. Officers could smell alcohol on Troy Teague’s breath and placed him into custody on a charge of driving while intoxicated after failing field tests, which officers found he had two prior convictions for already, according to the release.

Officers found Shannon Teague to be intoxicated as well, and arrested her for allowing her husband to drive with their three children in the vehicle, according to the release.

Troy Teague was charged with driving while intoxicated a third time or more, a third-degree felony, and Shannon Teague was charged with three counts of endangering a child, a state jail felony.

The release stated the children were released to a family member after Child Protective Services was notified.

Jail records show the Teagues were taken to the Ector County Detention Center Sunday. Trevor Teague has one bond of $15,000 and Shannon Teague has three bonds totaling $22,500.
