Ector County ISD police, with assistance from the Texas Rangers, arrested two Permian High School freshmen in connection with a threat posted on Snapchat about “shooting up PHS.”
The boys told officers they thought the threat might get school canceled for the rest of the day.
Officers said they don’t believe the boys were planning an actual attack.
Both now both face charges of terroristic threat, a third degree felony, a news release said.
“We take all these types of reports seriously and will utilize all of our resources to find the people involved,”ECISD Police Chief Todd Hiner stated in the release. “Students need to remember that these types of comments on social media or text are unlawful and unacceptable.”
