Arrest made in connection with child endangerment

Odessa police arrested a woman Friday after an investigation into child endangerment.

April Hill, 28, was arrested and charged with abandoning/endangering a child, a second-degree felony.

A release stated Odessa police responded to the 800 block of West 13th Street around 8 p.m. Friday, on a call from a complainant who told police there was a four-year-old girl crying and unattended at the park.

At about 9 p.m., officers began knocking on apartment doors across the street, ultimately locating the mother, identified to be Hill. The release stated that investigation revealed that Hill failed to notice the child’s absence for approximately three hours. Hill was arrested and taken to the Ector County Law Enforcement Center. Child Protective Services was notified and the child was released to a family member.
