City Council to consider board appointments

The Odessa City Council will consider approving appointments to 12 different boards and committees during their regularly scheduled meeting Tuesday.
The Council will meet to vote on these appointments and other issues at 6 p.m. Tuesday on the fifth floor of City Hall, 411 W. Eighth St.
Former District 3 Council Member Barabara Graff is one of many names listed on the agenda under board nominees. The council will vote to appoint her as a whole to the Ector County Appraisal District Board, and District 1 City Council Member Malcolm Hamilton also nominated her to serve on the Midland Odessa Urban Transit District Board. Graff’s term on council ended in December after she reached the limits of terms she could serve.
County commissioners are also included on the list of nominees. Mari Willis nominated Precinct 4 Commissioner Armando Rodriguez to serve on the Midland Odessa Urban Transit District Board, and Ector County nominated Dale Childers to serve on the Emergency 9-1-1 Advisory Board
The agenda shows a Mayor Pro Tem will also be appointed, to lead city council meetings when Mayor David Turner is absent. It also states that council will look at “establishing duties for Council members.”
