City council set to meet Tuesday

The City of Odessa Planning Director Randy Brinlee is scheduled to give two presentations about rezoning one plot for light commercial and the other for a tavern.

The public hearings are part of the Odessa City Council meeting set to start at 6 p.m. Tuesday on the fifth floor of City Hall in the City Council Chambers located at 411 W. Eighth St.

The first property Brinlee will speak about is to consider approval to rezone from single-family residence to light commercial on the northern portion of Lot 1 Block 1 at 927 S. Muskingum Avenue.

The second property is to consider approval for a specific use permit to allow a tavern use in a retail-one zoning district on Lot 1, Block 6, Brownstone Addition, located at 4101 Medical Park Drive.

Both properties are in first approval.

City attorney Natasha Brooks will also speak to the city council about authorizing the donation of a 7.65 acre tract located in Section 35, Block 42. The proposed Lot 1 and Lot 2, Block 1, is for Odessa City Shop Addition.

In addition to talking about properties, senior assistant city attorney Dan Jones will speak to city council about taking action on a settlement agreement for pre-litigation. Jones detailed in an email to the Odessa American that the agenda item is for “pre-litigation settlement of an automobile accident involving Mrs. Patricia Flores.”
