A “3 Miracles for Belle” benefit will be held for 2-year-old Belle Cooper, who almost drowned in a children’s pool last summer and has been severely disabled since then, from 6-10 p.m. Aug. 2 at Green Acres Mini-Golf at 2905 E. Highway 80 in Midland.

Seeking a third miracle for the baby comes after she was born prematurely and needed heart surgery, said her great-grandmother, Janette Lewis of Odessa, whose church, the West University Church of Christ, is supporting the event.

The Cooper family will receive $10 from each adult who plays miniature golf Aug. 2 and $5 from each child 12 years old and younger who plays.

Benefits will also be derived from the sales of hamburgers and hot dogs and from a raffle for a $50 gift card to Green Acres Mini-Golf, Lewis said.

West Texas Worship Conference has been scheduled Aug. 10-13 at the Odessa Marriott Hotel and Conference Center, 305 E. Fifth St.

With so many families in the community are losing their jobs due to COVID and the downturn in oil, the Sherwood Clothes Closet is an opportunity for people to find needed clothing items for the entire family.

Hours are 9 a.m. to 10:30 a.m. Masks are required to comply with city orders and to protect each other from spreading the virus.

Victory Christian Fellowship Church, 325 N. County Road West, offers individuals assistance who are hurting from addictions to become drug and alcohol free, physically well and most important spiritually alive.

All services are provided for free.
