The Odessa Chamber of Commerce is proud to kick-off and celebrate National Chamber Week which is being held Oct. 14-18.
The work of the Chamber helps support and create an environment in which businesses and organizations prosper, a news release said.
While the overall mission is to advocate for business, each community’s Chamber is different in how they go about carrying out that mission. Many Chambers focus on social events, where people come together to network. This is a very valuable benefit.
However, the news release said, the Odessa Chamber has evolved into offering much more than the basic networking opportunity. Since the Odessa Chamber of Commerce was formed 90 years ago, they are involved in every arena from business advocacy, economic and community prosperity, education, healthcare, transportation, workforce development, leadership and tourism.
The Odessa Chamber promotes local interests to ensure the community has an environment in which businesses and residents can thrive. They also welcome visitors and new residents to our community, showing them the outstanding hospitality of the community. They work to improve quality of life, promoting attractions and a calendar full of activities. Its three departments include Members and Events, Economic Development and Discover Odessa.
Odessa Chamber is the “Voice of Business” working for the more than a 1,000 business members representing 44,000 employees.
