AimBank acquires Platinum Bank

AimBank announced it has acquired Platinum Bank, a merger announced Friday that will expand the $1.3 billion bank in Odessa, Levelland and Lubbock as it seeks to grow market share in West Texas.

AimBank, based in Levelland, maintains 18 full-service banks in the Permian Basin, Panhandle, South Plains and Big Country regions of Texas.

The bank already has branches in Odessa and Midland.

The latest merger follows an acquisition of Muleshoe State Bank announced in January that expanded AimBank into the Muleshoe and Farwell markets.

“This acquisition is a representation of our continued growth, providing deeper roots in the area,” AimBank CEO Scott Wade said in a statement. “AimBank is committed to the growth in our communities through helping local businesses stay viable and strong.”
