Business I-20 project starting Sunday

A project to resurface Business Interstate 20 between Odessa and Midland will begin Sunday night, changing some traffic patterns at West Loop 250 in Midland.

Night work will also be done at major intersections like East Loop 338, Faudree Road, Coors Road and West Loop 250, a Texas Department of Transportation news release stated, and the night work will be done through Thursday morning.

Work will begin at the loops in Odessa and Midland Sunday, the release detailed, and some ramp closures may be necessary while work is being done.

Concrete medians and extended turn bays will be placed on West Loop 250 to improve traffic operations in the area, the release stated.

The main lanes of Business I-20 will be milled and resurfaced during daylight hours once all of the intersections are done, the release detailed, and lanes will only be closed while work is being done.

Also included in the project, the release stated, is signage and other miscellaneous work like metal beam guard fences and pavement markings.

TxDOT said the entire project is scheduled to be completed in Spring 2019, with the bulk of the road work expected to be completed in this calendar year.
