Oil show has long history in Odessa In 1940, nobody expected a little oil show at Floyd Gwin Park to become what it is today. The show was called "Little International Oil Show" and was really for local businesses to show new products. It also started off a tradition of shows that has gone more than 70 years. It later moved into the coliseum area and a barn behind the coliseum. It progressed to the buildings outside of the coliseum in buildings A through G. The show now covers most of the coliseum area and barns.
