With over 3,000 acres of sand available to the public to hike and explore, The Monahans Sandhills State Park remains open to the public throughout the closures due to COVID-19. Open from 7 a.m. to 10 p.m., admission is $4 with free admission for children under 12 years old.

Even though the park offices are closed, the park has several placards that provide information about the history of the Monahans Sandhills State Park.
The ever changing Monahans Sandhills boasts over 3,000 acres of state park available to the public to hike and enjoy seeing the sand dunes. With summer temperatures regularly peaking into the 100's, park officials urge people to make sure they bring enough fluids.

The picnic area of the Monahans Sandhills are empty Monday morning before people begin showing up for a mid-day picnic. Shaded picnic sites and shaded campsites are available to park goers at the park and provide much needed relief from the hot sun.
Always being changed by the West Texas winds, the sand dunes at Monahans Sandhills State Park provide many different heights for park goers to hike up and slide down in rented sand discs.
With temperatures peaking into the 100's in mid-day, the Monahans Sandhills have both shaded picnic and shaded campsites available to be used by park goers to get a break from the blistering sun.
