THE STORY: Former Austin athletic director Leon Fuller started his new job as ECISD AD this week. He has head coaching experience at the high school, college and pro levels.

>> “Phil, how do you know he was hand picked by Permian? Were you there for any of the interviews? Have you been involved with any of the hiring process? If not, stop stirring the pot. We have no idea why OHS was not represneted at the introduction or news conference. Could it be something simple like THEY WERE NOT AVAILABLE or something to that effect? Stop whining and making an attempt to divide this city more than what it is over high school sports.”

>> “Fuller did not even apply for the job. He was recruited after Bruce Davis said he would quit unless he were picked. Fuller is an old coach of Davis. Fuller, Davis and Rives were seen dining out in Odessa the day he came to town for the announcement. This man is obviously not here for his expertise. His last stop was Austin. Name the great state champions Austin produced in that time. He is here because Davis and Rives want him. He is pliable. I mean, when is the last time someone quit a job and got to stay? Not in the world I live in. Every boss I ever had would have said, Hit the highway!”
