ODESSA Henrietta “H.K.” Moeller, 63, of Odessa, died July 28th, 2007, at Medical Center Hospital after a brief battle with cancer.

H.K. was born in San Marcos, Texas on April 9th, 1944 on Easter Sunday. She grew up in Odessa graduating from Odessa High School and Sul Ross State University. She loved horses and the outdoors. She had a way with animals and would take care of just about any abandoned or injured animal that she thought she could help. She also enjoyed growing irises and was an officer in the local chapter of the American Iris Society.

She worked for her father’s company, Martin Engineering, for over 30 years until his retirement and subsequently worked for the Odessa American.

She is survived by two sons, Jeff Moeller his wife Angela and their daughter, Miranda of Austin; son, Chris Moeller of St. Kitts, West Indies and his daughter Marissa; her mother, Henrietta Martin of Odessa; and two sisters, Roberta Palmour of Montreal, Quebec and Susan Martin of Odessa. She is preceded in death by her father, Edwin S. Martin Jr. and daughter-in-law, Kay Ruppanner.

Visitation will be at Hubbard-Kelly Funeral Home and the family will be receiving guests between 6 and 8 this evening. There will be a private graveside service Wednesday, August 1st, at the Martin Memory Field with the Rev. Henry O. Freund officiating. Memorial donations can be made to LiveStrong.org or the American Cancer Society.
