ODESSA Joe D. Snow, 83, of Odessa, died Friday, October 5, 2007, at the Hospice House. He was born November 8, 1923, in Ringling, Oklahoma, to Walter and Minnie (May) Snow. He was retired from the oilfield construction business. He was a member of Redeemer Lutheran Church.

Joe served in the U.S. Army during World War II as a private in Battery D 734th Antiaircraft Artillery Gun Battalion as a radar crewman and expert rifleman. His battles and campaigns included Luzon. He received two Overseas Service Bars, the American Theatre Campaign Ribbon, the Philippine Liberation Ribbon with one Bronze Star, he also received the Asiatic Pacific Campaign Ribbon with one Bronze Star, the Good Conduct Medal and the Victory Ribbon.

He is preceded in death by his parents, wife Edna Ruth (Stewart) Snow, sisters, Jewel LeBeau and Imogene Garret, and grandson, Steven Tipton.

He is survived by his daughters, Charlotte Anderson of Mansfield, TX, and Joanna Knight and husband Ron of Burleson, TX, sister, Leola Wells of Checotah, OK, 2 grandchildren, Sheri Swaine and Tonya Neal and husband, Donny, and 4 great-grandchildren, Rebecca Anderson, Hannah Swaine, Luke and Faith Neal.

Funeral services will be held at 3:00 p.m. Friday, October 12, 2007, at Hubbard-Kelly Funeral Home Chapel with Pastor Dean Kelm and Pastor Jerry Bagwell officiating. Interment will follow at Sunset Memorial Gardens.

Pallbearers are Jim Beard, Dr. Russ Boyles, Stephen Boyles, Chad Holdeman, Fred Weiss and Red Weiss. Honorary Pallbearers are Charles Kramer, Ed Ramsey and Don Warren.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Hospice House of Odessa or Redeemer Lutheran Church.

Services entrusted to Hubbard-Kelly Funeral Home.
