MIDLAND Chevron is excited to announce that it will donate $2.5M towards the development of the Midland Athletic Syndicate Athletic Complex, whose groundbreaking takes place Oct. 2.
The new facility will offer Midland families an indoor destination for recreational activities and is anticipated to open in 16-18 months.
“There is a need in our community for a facility like this,” said Ryder Booth, VP of Chevron’s Mid-continent Business Unit. “Midland’s largest demographic is children, and Chevron is proud to support high-quality facilities that support physical and mental health.”
Midland Athletic Syndicate President Austen Campbell stated in a news release, “We are committed to providing a safe and accessible sports complex for the youth of Midland and Chevron’s donation helps us do just that. We are thankful for the support of the Midland business community for investing in this project that will positively impact the Permian Basin for generations to come.”
Midland Athletic Syndicate and Chevron’s goal is to bring a first-class, multi-use athletic complex to serve the community of Midland. The complex will host tournaments, league play, and provide indoor practice space and recreation space for the betterment of Midland’s youth.
With more than 100,000 square feet of playing surface, the facility will feature six full-size basketball courts, which can convert to 12 full-size volleyball courts, and two soccer fields which can also be used as multi-sport turf space. The complex will also offer male and female locker rooms, concessions, spectator seating, and flex rooms for meetings and education.
