Being a boss doesn’t automatically make you a leader. A leader provides guidance and direction, and at the center of every successful business or community, you will find a great leader. A true leader exists to add value, integrity, and a positive influence to the company or community; they do not exist simply to make money.

AiM 2015: The Sewell Leadership Event, sponsored by Sewell Chevrolet is again “Raising Hopes in the Permian Basin and is focused on the importance of leadership in the face of adversity.” The goal of the conference is to make sure our leaders are adding value to our community. Collin Sewell raises the question: “If your company ceased to exist, would you be missed?”

Sewell Chevrolet is bringing in amazing leaders as this year’s keynote speakers in order to teach us how to become better leaders and in turn, have more thriving businesses in the Permian Basin. A leader must understand that great leaders aren’t dictators but rather lead through personal connections and inspiring the people around them by consciously creating results that would not have happened otherwise.

“This year’s keynote speakers will be John Maxwell, Andy Andrews and David Salyers. Maxwell is an author and speaker who has made a career out of teaching leadership principles. Three of his books -- The Irrefutable Laws of Leadership, Developing the Leader Within You, and The 21 Indispensable Qualities of a Leader -- have sold more than one million

copies. Andrews became a New York Times best-selling author with his release of The Traveler’s Gift: Seven Decisions that Determine Personal Success. Salyers is the Vice President of Marketing for fast food giant Chick-fil-A.

The day will consist of keynote sessions, a catered lunch by Chick-fil-A and a roundtable Q&A session with all three speakers. Tickets cost $40 for general admission, and $30 for overflow seating.” All of the proceeds are going to this year’s local charity, Mission Messiah, which is a 12-month, faith-based residency for women and their children.

This event is an amazing opportunity to learn from 3 incredibly influential leaders. These gentlemen possess self-direction, vision and the ability to motivate and will inspire you to become more successful in your leadership role.

Join the Sewell Family of Companies at the Sewell Leadership Event at 9 a.m. on April 15 at CrossRoads Fellowship in Odessa. You can purchase tickets at www.sewellleadershipevent.com, call 432.498.0421 or email events@teamsewell.com
