Many people ask, “Is hypnosis good for…?” and the answer is always, “YES!” Hypnosis is a remarkable tool for any behavioral malaise whether it’s smoking, over eating, biting your nails, phobias, etc. In the past, Sydney Garrett Hayes, CHt has worked extensively with individuals who hold onto the memories and effects of trauma and has seen markedly different people on their follow up sessions. Holding onto trauma actually manifests itself in our physicality and has a tremendous effect on our health.

When you go to see Sydney for a session, you will find it to be one of the most relaxing experiences where all the stress you carry around is immediately released, and will wake up feeling positive and emotionally renewed. Hypnosis changed her entire life. She spent years playing negative tapes in her conscious thought, but after her first session with her mentor, she came away with a beaming smile and memories placed in the past where they could no longer interfere with her journey. This allowed her permission to be happy.

In Sydney’s practice she teaches clients self-hypnosis, which is used as a tool at home to stay focused and assist with any other concepts they wish to work on in their lives. She also practices self-hypnosis as a form of daily meditation to quiet and remind herself of things she wishes to improve. For instance, when she feels anxious, Sydney makes it a point to spend ten minutes each day meditating to ease her mind and this affirms everything is going to be fine.

Hypnosis is a state of mind, which comes very naturally to each person, every day of our lives. Hypnotherapists get a bad rap from stage comedians who convey the idea they put people under a spell or are under their control. What happens is the stage hypnotist eliminates any participant who is not easily suggestible leaving only those who, upon entering the stage, make an unconscious agreement that anything that happens is okay.  The truth is no hypnotist can make anyone do anything they don’t want to do.

Sydney especially likes to work with individuals who find themselves in a bad relationship with their scale. Seeing someone literally transformed emotionally and physically makes her love her job. You can visit Sydney Garrett Hayes, CHt in her office located within the medical practice of Kristen Kozma D.O. at 1304 West Texas Avenue in Midland or call (432) 262-2660.
