The Gamma Tau Chapter of Alpha Delta Kappa met March 13 at The Egg & I.
Seven members and one guest were present. President Nancy Chapman presided. Chaplain Virginia Tingley introduced guest speaker Monica Tsachauner from Hope House.
Tsachauner spoke about Hope House, which provides housing, transportation and some meals for cancer patients while they are in Odessa receiving treatment; financial assistance for medicine; medical equipment; and “The Feel Good, Look Good Shop” that supplies wigs, turbans, scarves, hats and personal cosmetics.
Minutes from the February meeting were not available. Phyllis White gave the treasurer’s report and other committee reports were given.
Altruistic Chairman Elaine Stephens reported that chapter altruistic had been sent in to state. Stephens also reported that 250 books were presented to the Boys & Girls Club of Odessa in honor of Laura Turner. Members voted to give Sam’s Club gift cards to Hope House so they can purchase needed items. In order to qualify for the Bluebonnet Award, the chapter must get one new member or host a membership tea. The chapter discussed scheduling a membership tea after Labor Day.
