Everett “Carl” and Margery Higdon of Marble Falls will be celebrating their 60th wedding anniversary on an upcoming Royal Caribbean cruise with their youngest son Lyle and his family.

Margery Hilkemeier married her husband Aug. 1, 1958, in Harrisburg, Nebraska.

The couple has four children: Lily Higdon, Mike Higdon, Lyle Higdon and the late Rose Anna Higdon Bryson. They have nine grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren.

“Carl” Higdon retired in 1997, after working in the oilfield for 48 years in Wyoming, Nebraska, New Mexico, Utah, Colorado and Texas. He worked in drilling, well servicing, pumping, oil and gas leases, and owned Byers Well Serv. in Byers, Colo. Margery Higdon was forced to retire in 1997 due to a brain tumor. During her 32-year career she worked as a secretary, bookkeeper, office manager and administrative secretary.
