WOMEN'S COLLEGE BASKETBALL: Lady Falcons look to stay hot
The UTPB women’s basketball team seeks its third straight road win, and fourth win in a row overall, when it travels to face Texas A&M International at noon today in Laredo.
The Lady Falcons (14-6 overall, 5-2 Heartland Conference) are tied for second place with Arkansas-Fort Smith, which handed first-place Newman its first conference loss Thursday night. Texas A&M International (11-10, 3-4), which is in fifth place, lost 79-68 against UTPB on Jan. 5 in Odessa.
Taniqua Ards leads the Lady Falcons with 11.6 points per game, while Teisha King, Jessi Cowden and Lauren Unger are each averaging at least 10.1 points. Samantha Chacon and Nikkiti Scott lead the Dustdevils with 11.0 points per game apiece.
