Cross country: UTPB has solid showings at Heartland meet

DALLAS The UTPB women were fifth out of nine teams and the men were fourth out of seven teams Saturday in the Heartland Conference Cross Country Championships on the campus of Dallas Baptist University.

UTPB’s men scored 111 points behind James Blessinger and Roy Rodriguez, who finished 13th and 14th individually.

Joey Escalante was 26th, Seth Tullar was 28th and Erik Carrasco was 31st to close out the team scoring for the Falcons.

In the women’s race, UTPB scored 135 points for their team finished behind a 14th-place individual showing by Ariel Renteria.

Monica Tavarez followed in 20th, Mindy Navarette was 29th, Ashley Carrasco took 40th and Victoria Padilla came in 46th for the Lady Falcons.
