College soccer: Dozier scores again in UTPB women's tie
Comments 0 | Recommend 0Hannah Dozier scored her 11th goal of the season, but it was all the UTPB women’s soccer team could muster during a 1-1 tie against Newman University (Kan.) during a Heartland Conference game at Falcon Field.
Dozier put the Lady Falcons (3-8-1 overall, 1-4-1 conference) ahead 1-0 just more than two minutes into the game by converting off a pass from fellow Midland High graduate Brandy Watts.
However, Newman (4-5-3, 2-2-1) tied the game in the 49th minute when Lauren Benning scored off a rebound.
UTPB freshman goalkeeper Victoria Ramirez made nine saves to help preserve the tie in a game that featured eight corner kicks for each team and 39 total shots — 20 for Newman and 19 for UTPB.
The Lady Falcons fell to 1-6-1 in their last eight games.
