Premier Development League soccer: West Texas United heads east
The West Texas United Sockers, coming off a 2-1 victory over the RGV Grandes FC on July 8, return to the pitch tonight when they face the New Orleans Jesters at Pan American Stadium in New Orleans.
A victory by the Sockers would eliminate the Jesters from postseason consideration.
Against Rio Grande Valley, Lukas Garcia and Michael Stewart scored second-half goals to lift the West Texas United to its first victory in eight Professional Development League games.
After facing the Jesters tonight, the Sockers will stay in Louisiana, traveling to Baton Rouge to face the Capitals on Sunday at Christian Life Academy Stadium.
West Texas United returns home July 21 to close out the regular season with a contest with the Laredo Heat.
