Indoor Football League: Lane goes with Roughnecks

Former Texas A&M running back and fullback Jorvorskie Lane signed a letter of intent Wednesday with the Odessa Roughnecks.

Lane, a Lufkin native, switched to fullback his senior season in 2008 and holds the career record for touchdowns with 49.

As a sophomore, Lane rushed for 725 yards and a school-record 19 touchdowns.

The 6-foot, 272-pound Lane was selected for the East-West Shrine Game after the season but was not picked in the 2009 NFL Draft, nor signed as an undrafted free agent.
