Comments 0 | Recommend 0

PLAINVIEW Permian High School's girls cross country team swept the top four individual places Saturday in the Plainview ISD Meet and easily won the team title with a perfect score of 15 points.

Lakeshia Johnson was first and was followed by Laura Porras, Jamia Graham and Bianka Cortez to lead the Lady Panthers.

Reagan Ryan was eighth individually to round out the team scoring, but her team points counted fifth since the fifth, sixth and seventh runners did not figure into the team standings.

Permian's boys finished fifth in the same meet behind sophomore David Hernandez's 11th-place individual finish.

He was followed by Jose Gonzales and Jake Blair in 33rd and 34th, with Ricardo Chavarria (36th) and Brandon Cordero (37th) rounding out Permian's team scoring.
