College volleyball: UTPB extends ACU to four sets before losing
Comments 0 | Recommend 0The UTPB volleyball team dropped its final nonconference match of the season 25-10, 21-25, 25-13, 25-18 to Abilene Christian at Moody Coliseum on Tuesday in Abilene.
Old problems flared up for the Lady Falcons (13-18), who could only manage a .057 hitting percentage despite 10 kills from senior opposite Molly Atnip, who only committed two hitting errors and added 1.5 blocks.
Three players posted negative hitting percentages for UTPB, a team looking to take back third place in the Heartland Conference with a pair of matches against Dallas Baptist at 7 p.m. Friday and 2 p.m. Saturday in the Falcon Dome.
Abilene Christian (23-5) rolled behind 14 kills from Jennie Hutt and the 11-kill, 4.5-block performance of Shawna Hines.
