Premier Development League: Sockers try to stay on streak

Former Permian standout Lukas Garcia will try to keep the West Texas United Sockers pointed in the right direction at 7 tonight on the road during a Premier Development League soccer game against the Baton Rouge Capitals.

Garcia, who has seen extensive playing time since the Sockers’ win over the FC Dallas reserves, scored the equalizer in Friday night’s 2-1 win over the New Orleans Jesters. West Texas United (5-9-0, 15 points) has now won two in a row after snapping a seven-game losing streak two weeks ago.

Michael Stewart came up with the game-winner against the Jesters, but the Capitals (6-7-1, 19 points) will want to defend their home pitch.
