Premier Development League: Draw leaves Sockers gasping for breath

DALLAS The West Texas United Sockers played DFW to a 2-2 draw on Sunday night and put their waning playoff hopes on the brink of elimination.

Coming into the game, West Texas United (6-5-3, 21 points) needed a win to put the Sockers in charge of their own destiny the rest of the season.

Now, the Sockers need some help. If DFW (7-4-4, 25 points) wins its final game at home against Houston on Friday, the Tornados will clinch the second and final playoff spot in the Premier Development League’s Mid-South Division and effectively end the Sockers’ season.
