College soccer: Falcons head to Portales in search of a victory

Comments 0 | Recommend 0

Today, a win would be nice — the UTPB men’s soccer team hasn’t had one in six games.

A road victory today would be welcomed, too — the Falcons haven’t had one all season.

UTPB will go for it at 4 p.m. today against host Eastern New Mexico in a nonconference game at Portales, N.M.

The Falcons (2-7-1 overall, 0-5) last played Sunday and lost 4-3 in overtime to visiting Heartland Conference foe Incarnate Word.

The three goals scored tied a season high, last reached in a Sept. 8 win against Wayland Baptist — UTPB’s last victory.

Raul Lopez scored all three goals Sunday to break a 392-minute scoreless streak.

Eastern New Mexico is 8-3-2 overall.
