College soccer: First win behind them, Lady Falcons back at it
Comments 0 | Recommend 0The UTPB women’s soccer team will look to make it two wins in a row when it hosts Eastern New Mexico at 3 p.m. Thursday at Falcon Field.
Led by Dozier’s two goals and two assists, the Lady Falcons got their first victory this season, 4-0, against visiting Wayland Baptist University in a non-conference game Tuesday.
Dozier has three of the team’s six goals this season.
Tiffany Richter, Brandy Watts and Saide Moya each have one.
Brandy Watts’ goal in the 20th minute put the Lady Falcons (1-2 overall, 0-1) ahead 2-0 on Tuesday. Seventeen minutes later, Saide Moya connected off a deflected save.
UTPB has 37 shot attempts so far, while opponents have 35, scoring on five.
Tuesday was freshman goalkeeper Victoria Ramirez’s first shutout. She’s tallied 17 saves in three games.
