College golf: Smith stands seventh with one round to play
Comments 0 | Recommend 0FINDLAY, OHIO Angelo State University junior Raelyn Smith is in position for a top-10 medalist finish at the NCAA Division II Women's Golf Championships.
Smith, a 2006 Permian High School graduate, stands in seventh at 229 after shooting 75 in the second round and 77 in the third round at Findlay Country Club.
The tournament had to play 36 holes Friday after rain wiped out Thursday's play.
Lyndsay McBride of the University of Indianapolis leads the tournament at 221 and is eight strokes ahead of Smith.
Nova Southeastern's Sandra Changkija stands in second at 225, however, just four strokes ahead of the Odessan.
Smith is scheduled to tee off in the opening group at 8 a.m. today.
