College rodeo: Wranglers send eight to short-go in Portales
Comments 0 | Recommend 0PORTALES, N.M. Odessa College started its fall rodeo season with eight of its athletes advancing to the short-go in their respective events this past weekend at Eastern New Mexico College.
Cory Baudoin finished seventh in the bareback competition, while Aaron Lide was sixth in saddle bronc.
Steer wrestler Will Johnson was eighth in the average after two runs. Teammate Clay Harris missed his steer in the short-go for a no time.
Team ropers Harris and Colter Harden split seventh through ninth in the long go and missed in the short go.
Bull rider Daniel Dickson was fourth after the long go with an 80 score, but he was bucked off in the final.
For the women, Dana Johnson had times of 9.5 seconds on both runs for a 19.0 average to finish sixth.
Morgan McMillian was sixth in the barrel racing with a 17.97 but hit a barrel in the final for a no time.
OC will continue its season this week at Weatherford.
