Central Hockey League: Jackalopes sign two

The Odessa Jackalopes announced Wednesday that forwards Jeff Pierce and Martin Paquet have signed contracts for the 2009-10 Central Hockey League season.
Pierce returns to the Permian Basin after a rookie season that saw him score 66 points (22 goals, 44 assists) to earn a spot on the CHL All-Rookie Team, along with being a finalist for Rookie of the Year.
Paquet played for Amiens, in France last season, scoring 33 points (16-17) in 26 games.
The Jackalopes open the season Oct. 16 at 7:05 p.m. against the Corpus Christi IceRays at Ector County Coliseum.
