Pro baseball: Guzman, Gaetti help Midland roll at home
Comments 0 | Recommend 0MIDLAND Jesus Guzman had a two-run single and Joe Gaetti had a run-scoring triple in a three-run fourth inning that helped the Midland RockHounds beat the Corpus Christi Hooks 11-5 on Monday night in a Texas League game at Citibank Ballpark.
Gaetti also had a sacrifice fly in the third, an RBI double in the sixth and a run-scoring single in the eighth.
Billy Hart hit a grand slam in the first inning to help Corpus Christi take a 5-0 lead. The Hooks had five hits in the inning.
Anthony Recker hit a two-run homer and Aaron Cunningham had a run-scoring double in a four-run second for Midland. The RockHounds also scored a run on a wild pitch.
Gaetti's sacrifice fly drove in Guzman, who led off with a triple, and got Midland even at 5-5 in the third.
Guzman's single put Midland ahead 7-5 in the fourth.
Brian Snyder had an RBIâsingle in the fifth for Midland.
Midland reliever Pat Currin (4-0) allowed two hits and struck out three in two shutout innings.
